The theme of this year's event was "Optimizing the Management and Process of Doping Control". Günter Gmeiner, Head of the Austrian Doping Control Laboratory in Seibersdorf and organizer of the annual workshop, was once again pleased about an increased number of participants.
42 experts from Europe and overseas found themselves this year for an exchange of experience.
Among the speakers were Stuart Kemp as representative of the WADA (Word Anti-Doping Agency) and David Müller of the NADA (National Anti-Doping Agency) Austria among the representatives of several European doping control laboratories and UEFA.
The main focus of the talks was on the optimization of the cooperation of the involved institutions, the sampling strategies for doping control, the improved sample transport and the chances and risks of long-term storage of samples for later post-analysis with new methods.
