On Thursday, 2015-08-27, the Austrian Sports Minister Mag. Gerald Klug and the head of NADA Austria Mag. Michael Cepic visited our doping control laboratory.
Dr. Gmeiner, Head of the doping control laboratory, gave an overview of the scientific work and achievements.
Afterwards the laboratory premises were shown to Minister Klug and representatives of the press.
Reason for the visit was the latest scientific result: A new EPO detection method, developed in Seibersdorf, has been introduced as international standard procedure by the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA).
In the course of the visit, the NADA, the National Anti-Doping Agency, presented their new Anti-Doping-campaign to the press.
The Austrian Sports Minister Klug underlined the importance of the fight for clean sports and Austria´s pioneering role in the field of doping control, both on legal as well as on the scientific level.
