The scope of this course is to provide CBRN defense specialists with the required competence to analyze, plan, prepare for and collect chemical, biological, radiological and environmental samples under hazardous conditions. The scope also includes recording of the samples and maintenance of chain-of-custody. |
Participants will:
- know the theory and principles of sampling
- be able to analyse the situation and identify the types of evidence available
- be able to plan, to prepare and to collect samples by using a sampling kit
- be able to decontaminate and seal samples
- be able to document the collection of sampling
- know the principles of chain-of-custody
The content of the course is a mix of theory and practical work (Live Agent Training). The basics will be taught in a classroom setting and trained practically, with sealed and unsealed (open) radioactive sources, CWAs as well as industrial chemicals.
Participants should be:
- medically and physically fit (Employer to provide a medical clearance for the employee to work in personal protective equipment)
- medical insurance valid in Europe/ Austria
- able to understand instructions/training delivered in the German or English Language
- 18 years of age as a minimum
- female participants must not be pregnant
